We are thrilled by the local churches who are partnering with us to plant in the Virginia area. Here are some examples:
Anchor Point Community Church — Duluth: Anchor Point is going to be our mother church. In addition to extremely generous financial support, Pastor Jeff has made sure that I know they want to send people to be a part of the work on the ground as well! So far, he has volunteered to send anything from worship team help to nursery workers for core team events. Praise God for Anchor Point!
Rock Hill Community Church — Duluth: Rock Hill is a daughter church of Anchor Point that launched publicly in 2007, and now is helping us to do another plant on the Range by supporting us financially and in prayer. Pastor Kyle Eaton is another guy who I can bounce ideas off and be sure to get a quick response for prayer or counsel. Praise God for Rock Hill!
Windom Evangelical Free Church — Windom, MN: Pastor Dave at Windom was one of the first to respond to an email I sent out to let other churches know that we were moving forward with plans to plant a church. Although we only attended his church for about 18 months, over 10 years ago, he invited us to a part of their harvest festival last fall and the church has supported us generously. Praise God for Windom Free Church!
Embarrass Free Church — Embarrass, MN: I look forward to deepening our partnership with the free church that will be geographically one of our closest EFCA neighbors. Pastor Marlin Bjornrud has provided one of my most encouraging moments, so far, when he approached me to let me know that he would like me to meet with some of the members of the Embarrass church who drive from Virginia so that they might pray about whether to join our work. This sort of kingdom-mindedness is extremely humbling. Praise God for Embarrass Free Church!
North Star Church — Hibbing, MN: Although North Star is only one year old and affiliated with the CMA church, Pastor Tim Maki has indicated a willingness to release people committed to the ministry in Hibbing to join us in Virginia, because they live closer to us! Again, I can only pray that God will give me such grace to be this open-handed with the resources that God allows us to have for a season. Praise God for North Star Church.
More coming soon!
